My name is Rebecca Morris. I’ve got 3 kids, 2 cats and a husband. We live in Montreal.

From 2007 – 2015, I wrote a parenting blog detailing various (mis)adventures raising our daughter and our twin boys. I included lots of cute pictures and wry commentary, and the blog can still be viewed here.

For many years, I worked as an English, French and Resource teacher, but now I’ve stepped away from the classroom to write full-time. I’m using this blog to document my progress.

I completed the Humber School for Writers correspondence program in 2011 under the mentorship of John Metcalf. In 2016, I was awarded a Quebec Writers’ Federation mentorship; I worked with Montreal writer Ami Sands Brodoff and gave a public reading of my novel-in-progress. My short story “Foreign Bodies” won first place in the 2017 Malahat Review Open Season Awards.

Currently, I’m neck-deep (over my head?) in a draft of a novel set in my hometown of Guelph, Ontario. I also write short stories.

Onwards and upwards!
